Carmen Monge"s folk art is one of a kind and it is on display in her gallery on her lovely grounds along the Talari River in the Los Angeles Valley. In addition to her  sculpture and fiber art, Carmen has lovingly recorded, in her paintings and writings,  the lifestyles, customs and stories of bygone days (not so long ago) here in rural Southern Costa Rica. 

 

It is a nice hike over the hill to Arte Mia which is also part of Mariposa's larger Self-Guided "Cultural Walk".  This route is designed so that you can discover and enjoy the projects of our delightful neighbors. This is an unscripted endeavor and you will be  your own guide.  Ask us! We have maps and recommendations and can even arrange for Jose to pick you up for a Village tour by horseback.
