Every year in February, the town of San Gerardo is host to a four day festival that celebrates Chirripo, including a race up the mountain. Runners will climb from the town center to Crestones base camp, sometimes returning in as little as 3 hours! These runners and those who come out to support them are treated to music, food, and a dance, as well as a variety of local booths and culture. The Casa fills up quick around this time, so be sure to book in advance! We have one of the best views in the whole town, as runners pass right outside our front doorstep while in one of the most difficult climbs.
